Sous Chef Full Time

The 166-bedroom Ramada Hotel and Suites Coventry City Centre is just off Exit 7 of the Coventry Ring Road; all bedrooms and suites have stunning views overlooking the historic City Centre and County of Warwickshire. It has a dedicated training and meetings floor and a dedicated executive lounge.

Ramada Hotel and Suites Coventry City Centre is also home to the award-winning Queen’s Road Restaurant, offering a mix of traditional favourites and British fusion food, from ‘breakfast to bedtime’.

We are currently looking for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

Job Role and Duties
To assist the Head Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent guest and team member experience, while seeking customer feedback, training team members, controlling costs and supporting the Head Chef in delivery of high standards of service and completion of documented food safety management system.
Driving high food standards of delivering fresh, flavoursome and finely presented food at all times within both Queen’s Road Restaurant and the Meetings and Events floor.
To assist in the training and motivation of the kitchen team to deliver excellent service throughout the operation.
To complete the Food Safety Management System documentation in line with legal and company guidance.
Actively support the Head Chef in completing rotas and daily orders, and controlling costs in line with kitchen budgets.
Assisting with the creation and delivery of menus and updating the FSMS.
The Qualities of the Role:
Minimum 1 years’ experience as Sous Chef within a busy restaurant environment.
Previous experience in a hotel or a la carte restaurant.
Proven stability within an kitchen environment.
Ability to demonstrate excellent organisation, communication and planning skills.
Ability to demonstrate culinary expertise and knowledge of food allergens.
Additional Abilities;
Firs Aid at Work qualification.
Demonstrated knowledge of Safer Food Better Business.
Knowledge of Shield Safety (Risk Proof) compliance system.
Your Hours of Work:
Queen’s Road Restaurant opens at 6am for breakfast and continues service throughout the day until 10pm at night. You’re not expected to work all those hours! The Kitchen Team work to a flexible rota, 5 days out of 7 and a 40-hour week, covering a variety of shifts, from breakfast to evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
